These are also leadership skills. Many IT pros focus on building their technology skills and not their leadership skills. They are promoted into leadership positions based on their technical accomplishments, and then they are expected to lead people. We need to help IT pros think differently about how they approach project stakeholders, including business people, customers, managers, and team members. We need to help them learn to see things from their stakeholder’s perspectives, which includes annoying and ill-informed people, which includes people that get on their nerves, while at the same time address the technology requirements.
